PhD study into reading and writing instruction in Flemish secondary education

The research group Language, Education & Society is a dynamic research group dedicated to the study of language learning in multilingual contexts. The research carried out within our research group aims to unravel the interaction between (1) the learner, (2) the learners social and educational background, and (3) language learning or content-and-language integrated learning in multicultural educational contexts.

Project

This PhD study is part of the interdisciplinary research project SCALE (an SBO study financed by the Flemish Fund for Scientific Research). The main ambition of the project is to investigate in which ways school-based and curriculum-wide professional development initiatives (PDI) contribute to effective reading and writing instruction in Flemish secondary education.
