Physician Assistant (OBGYN) (Calgary)

Position Overview

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC) is recruiting a full‑time (1.0 FTE) Physician Assistant (PA). The successful applicant will work as part of the OB/GYN service in Calgary’s Foothills Medical Centre.

Responsibilities

• Work Monday to Friday (8‑hour shift) to support the OB/GYN team and patients admitted to the service.
• Assist with c‑sections on the Labour/Delivery unit or in gynecologic surgeries.
• Help with admitted inpatients and perform gynecologic consults for inpatient and emergency department patients.
• Assess, create, and communicate care plans for patients with pregnancy complications (e.g., pregnancy loss, ectopic pregnancy, retained products of conception) or acute gynecologic conditions (e.g., abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain/infection, pelvic masses) as well as postoperative complications.
