Physician / Emergency Medicine / Maine / Locum or Permanent / Emergency Medicine Job

Client currently has a need for one full-time Emergency Room Physician to work in our 24-hour ED which sees about 16,000 visits per year. The ED is a Level II trauma center, and sees a wide variety of cases, however, major trauma, cardiac, neurosurgery and other critical cases are transported to a tertiary care center. The physicians and nursing staff are specially trained in emergency medicine. The department has one trauma room and 11 exam rooms. Although patients are seen in order of severity of illness, a PA or Nurse Practitioner may see patients with less urgent needs. The ER physicians develop their own schedules, generally working three 12-hour shifts one week and four the next. In addition to working a full-time schedule, Client can offer a flexible staffing model, such as per diem, and part-time; working site visits are welcomed.
