Physiotherapist (Long Term Care)

Detailed Overview

Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for the assessment/evaluation, treatment, education and management of patients/residents requiring physiotherapy, activation therapeutic activities. Delegates components of treatment to assistants/aides. Responsibilities Provides clinical physiotherapy treatment, including assessment, problem identification, setting treatment goals, treatments, and re-evaluation of patients/residents. Educates patients/residents and their families in aspects of the physiotherapy treatment. Obtains patient/resident history from chart review, interviews and observation, as well as information provided at resident conferences and team meetings. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, makes recommendations for treatment to ensure quality patient/resident care.
