Planner - DA Assessment

Local council in Sydney is seeking an experienced Planner for a 6-month contract role within the City Planning, Development and Transport Division, Planning Assessments Business Unit. This role is critical for the efficient assessment of development-related applications, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and City policies. The Planner will be a part of the Fast Track team, focusing on general Development Applications (DA), outdoor dining, and minor heritage works (HWC) applications. Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the project lifecycle of development applications from lodgement through to determination.
• Draft high-quality written reports for decision-making bodies, including the Central Sydney Planning Committee (CSPC) and Local Planning Panel (LPP).
• Provide expert planning advice to Area Planning Managers, internal units, and external government authorities.
