Job Description

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Neurosurgery under the mentorship of Joseph McCarty, PhD. The post-doctoral position will involve basic and translational research in the area of brain tumor cell biology and mouse models of primary and metastatic brain cancer. There will be a particular emphasis on the brain microenvironment, including studies of how primary and metastic tumor cells co-opt the neurovascular unit/blood-brain barrier for selective growth and survival.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
The post-doc will receive training and mentoring in the use of mouse models and in vitro culture systems to study cell adhesion and signaling
pathways involved in tumor cell-stromal cell interactions. Biochemical, molecular genetical and cell biological techniques will also be
