Project Overview

The Group of Prof. Cleo Bertelsmeier is offering a Postdoctoral position in Biogeography of Sociality within the Department of Ecology and Evolution. The research project investigates the evolution and macroecology of social traits in ants, using macroclimatic and microclimatic data to assess species’ climatic niches and link them to social traits.

Job Information

Expected start date: 01/10/2026 or to be agreed.

Contract length: 1 year, renewable based on funding availability.

Activity rate: 100%.

Workplace: Lausanne‑Dorigny.

Your responsibilities

  • 70% personal research on ant sociality, macroecology, and climate linkages.
  • 25% participation in teaching activities and supervision of master students.
  • 5% maintenance of lab equipment and other institutional tasks.
