Power Electronics Test Engineer

A Power Electronics Test Engineer is responsible for testing, validating, and troubleshooting power conversion systems, including inverters, converters, motor drives, and power supplies. They ensure the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of power electronics hardware and firmware by developing test plans, conducting lab experiments, and analyzing performance data.

Key Responsibilities:

Testing & Validation

• Develop and execute test plans for power electronics systems (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters, inverters, SMPS, motor drives).
• Perform functional, performance, thermal, and stress testing to validate design robustness.
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and power-in-the-loop (PIL) testing.

Measurement & Debugging

• Use oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and thermal cameras to analyze system performance.
