PR Mechanical Engineer

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng / BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered as Pr Eng with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) – non-negotiable
• Minimum 5–8 years' experience in the mining industry
• Experience within chrome or platinum operations advantageous
• Strong knowledge of MHSA and mine safety standards
• GCC (Mines & Works) advantageous
• Experience in plant, underground or both (please specify in application)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee mechanical engineering compliance and statutory requirements
• Ensure safe operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
• Drive maintenance strategies and reliability improvements
• Manage CAPEX projects and plant upgrades
• Contractor and stakeholder management
• Support operational efficiency and cost control initiatives
