Preservation Technician

Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, St. Louis Preservation Program (RPXS). This lab is responsible for activities that prolong the usable life of archival records, minimize the physical and chemical deterioration of records, and prevent the loss of informational content. Responsibilities The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Preservation Technician, you will: Perform record preservation and treatment activities as assigned using appropriate materials and standards Apply knowledge and independent judgement to carry out treatment, digitization, condition assessments and special surveys.
