DIE- CASTING MOLD DESIGNER

1. Die Design & Development

·   Design complete die cast molds, including cavities, cores, slides, runner systems, overflows, vents, and cooling channels.

·   Develop parting lines, gating systems, and ejector layouts according to casting requirements.

·   Ensure proper draft, shrinkage allowance, tolerances, and dimensional accuracy in all designs.

·   Convert product requirements and 3D models into manufacturable mold designs.

2. Engineering Analysis & Feasibility

·   Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and mold flow feasibility reviews.

·   Evaluate fill time, thermal balance, solidification patterns, and venting needs.

·   Identify risks such as air traps, porosity, cold shuts, hot spots, and propose design solutions.

·   Assess machine compatibility (tonnage, shot size, die height, platen size).
