Job Description

  1. Patient Care and Clinical Services
  • Conduct consultations and assessments for patients presenting with minor ailments within the pharmacist's scope of practice.
  • Prescribe, dispense, and manage treatment according to Primary Care Drug Therapy protocols and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide counselling on medicine use, adherence, lifestyle modifications, and health promotion.

  1. Compliance and Regulatory Duties
  • Ensure compliance with SAPC GPP standards, the Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974, and the Medicines Act 101 of 1965.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in line with POPIA regulations.
  • Comply with reporting requirements for adverse drug reactions, pharmacovigilance, and controlled medicines.
  • Support internal audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
