Principal Flute, Tapiola Sinfonietta

Tapiola Sinfonietta is calling for applications for a Principal Flute. The principal together with the sub-principal leads the section with courageous and visionary example in co-operation with the concertmasters and other section leaders. The principal is responsible for the flute ensemble playing and making sure the work is divided evenly among the section’s players as well as maintaining soloistic preparedness. The duties also include playing the following auxiliary instruments: piccolo, alto flute, and wooden flute. Audience outreach and chamber music in smaller ensembles are a vital part of the Tapiola Sinfonietta’s activities and the musician’s job description.

We consider each applicant that has submitted their application on time. The selection is made after the audition has finished.
