The Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland invites applications for the position of Professor / Associate Professor (Tenure Track, level 2) in Art Education. The field of the position is visual arts teacher education and research in art education and will be filled from 1 February 2027.

The position is located in the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Lapland.

The Department of Visual Arts includes the degree programme in Art Education as well as studies in visual arts and culture. Teaching and supervision in the faculty are grounded in research and artistic practice. Studies in Art Education combine theoretical inquiry, artistic practice, and art pedagogy. The programme emphasizes contemporary art, the role of art education in sustainability transformations, and the promotion of social and cultural equality.
