Program Assistant II - Playground Leader

Main Purpose and Function

The Vancouver Parks Board is looking for energetic, enthusiastic and responsible individuals to be responsible for the planning, leadership, promotion, evaluation and volunteer supervision of the Summer Playground Program in several local neighbourhood parks across the City - specifically in July and August.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The Playground Leader position is responsible to plan and lead children in social, recreational arts, sports, games and special events activities while ensuring that all activities meet the S.A.F.E. and MARS safety standards. Additionally, this position will provide direction and supervise volunteers and perform marketing, promotion and outreach activities of all Playground activities, including preparing detailed monthly calendars, managing a supplies budget and identifying supplies and equipment required for the programs.
