Background

ViriyaENB is Indonesia’s climate foundation working to accelerate the country’s transition toward net-zero emissions underpinned by an equitable and regenerative economy. We support efforts with cross-cutting approaches to achieve net-zero emissions by midcentury in the energy-related sectors including power, industry, transport, and the built environment.

The built environment is a major and rapidly growing source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Indonesia. These emissions arise from both operational energy use—particularly cooling demand in a tropical climate—and embodied carbon in construction materials such as steel, cement, and concrete.
