Protestant Coordinator of Religious Education

Job Title: Protestant Coordinator of Religious Education (PCRE) Location: Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, Japan Hours: ~22 hours/week, flexible schedule with Sunday services required Summary: The PCRE coordinates and delivers Protestant religious education for elementary-aged children (K–5) at MCAS Iwakuni Chapel.

This includes leading weekly Children’s Church, organizing annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) and holiday programs, recruiting/training volunteers, and managing program logistics and records in support of the Command Chaplain’s ministry.

Key Duties: Lead or supervise 52 weekly Children’s Church sessions per year.

Plan and conduct 2 annual holiday specials (Christmas & Easter).

Organize and run a 3-day summer VBS program.

Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise chapel volunteers; ensure completion of background checks per DoDI 1402.05.
