Nurse Practitioner Correctional / Mental Health
Location: town outside Syracuse, NY
Start Date: 4/6/2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks (flexible); potential for extension
Schedule
Day shifts
Variety of schedules: 6:00 AM 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Practice Details
Correctional psychiatric setting
Collaborative work with offsite/on call physician
Perform physical exams, diagnose conditions, and manage treatment plans within NP scope
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
Develop and document patient care plans
Provide ongoing management of mental health and medical needs in a secure facility

Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic psychiatric and medical conditions
Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within specialty certification
