Psychiatry Specialist for Youth at Northern Health

Northern Health is seeking a Psychiatry Specialist focused on Child & Youth care. This role involves developing practice tailored to youth needs and encompasses comprehensive psychiatric services.
As a Child & Youth Psychiatrist, you will be part of the Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Unit, catering to both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role prioritizes assessments, crisis intervention, and psychotherapy, along with teaching opportunities for future medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed child/adolescent psychiatric assessments
• Manage and stabilize youth crises
• Provide longitudinal psychological care
• Serve as a pediatric client liaison
• Offer psychotherapy and support for addictions
• Teach and guide medical students and residents
• On-call duties required, less than once weekly
