Python and Power System Modeling Engineer III

Overview

The daily duties of this role involve performing EMT PSCAD simulation and Python code development. PSCAD is the core simulation software used for modeling PV and BESS systems, typically with plants greater than 20MVA. PSSe is employed to benchmark PSCAD results, ensuring model accuracy. The group is responsible for ensuring international grid code compliance, achieved through Python wrapping for automation of simulations and Python‑based plotting and analysis of the results. You will contribute over time to building international compliance software that validates new firmware against requirements and prevents regressions. Additionally, you will be exposed to R&D control algorithms in grid‑forming and grid‑following PV and BESS, and stay updated on the latest developments in grid compliance.
