QA Automation Engineer

Overview

Ocho is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to appoint an experienced QA Contractor for an initial 12‑month contract. This is a hands‑on Playwright role, supporting a growing engineering function and helping to elevate automated test coverage across the organisation. The contract offers strong potential to move into a permanent role at the end.

The role is Belfast-based with 2 days per week required in a city centre office.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Lead QA Engineer and a nearshore QA team to strengthen automated testing capability
• Take ownership of Playwright‑based test automation and increase overall test coverage
• Implement consistent testing patterns and best practice across multiple engineering teams
• Collaborate with developers to embed quality earlier in the SDLC
• Operate independently and deliver high‑quality automation without heavy oversight
