Radiologist (Medical Specialist)

Overview

A member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Radiology specialist provides diagnostic and consultative patient care services for CAF members. They work with Medical Radiation Technicians and can lead within CAF Health Services and mentor and educate military health care providers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, rapid radiological interpretation of multimodality imaging, including CT, ultrasound and X-ray.
• Help guide surgical and medical treatment at a Canadian Forces Health Services Clinic or while deployed on international, peacekeeping or humanitarian operations.
• Maintain a high level of clinical currency by holding a position within a civilian health care facility.
• Provide interventional skills for minimally invasive therapeutic treatment of injuries on overseas missions (when applicable).
• Contribute to development and application of health care policies within the CAF.
