Ranger - Weeds (Fixed term)

Overview

Ranger – Weed Management (Full‑time fixed‑term to June 2027, accommodation provided during shift). Live and work on islands within Tikapa Moana (Hauraki Gulf), including 4 months on Rangitoto-Motutapu, 4 months on Te Hauturu‑o‑Toi, and shorter stints on Tiritiri Matangi, Motuihe, Motuora, Kawau and smaller un‑manned islands near Motuora.

Responsibilities

• Participate in grid‑search priority areas for weeds across island locations.
• Perform weed control operations using manual and agricultural‑chemical techniques.
• Ensure accurate recording of all waypoints and track‑logs using GPS systems.
• Live on island during rostered periods and depart only on rostered days off, except for Hauturu.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in weed and pest management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS applications, GPS, and field‑based communication devices.
