Job summary
The R&D BOM Engineer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and controlling Bill of Materials (BOM) throughout the product development and production lifecycle. The role ensures BOM accuracy, component compliance, cost effectiveness, and smooth transition from R&D to mass production in an electronic manufacturing environment. The Engineer role carries higher responsibility and decision-making authority compared to the Staff Engineer role.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Ø Create, prepare, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for new product development (NPD) and existing products.
Ø Manage BOM structures, part numbers, revisions, and changes in systems.
Ø Lead BOM development for assigned projects and ensure data accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.
Ø Coordinate with R&D, Design, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing and other cross-functional teams.
