Recreation Aid/Assistant - Lifeguard

Summary This position is located in the Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Branch, of the Community Services Department, Community Support, Commander Navy Region Southeast. The primary function of this position is to perform the duties of a pool lifeguard. Responsibilities At this level the incumbent will be subject to closer supervision. The supervisor, lead, or Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) provide significantly more instruction, training, and guidance for assignments, planning and carrying out assignments, and choosing provisions of applicable guidelines or regulations. Work is closely checked by the supervisor, lead, or Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) for satisfactory fulfillment of instructions. Incumbent will have limited latitude to make independent decisions, as procedures require strict adherence to guidelines and precise attention to detail.
