Job Description

Purpose:
To provide safe and effective care for patients with cancer and to administer the specialized care and treatments using the standards of practice set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the standards and competencies set out by the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) and Cancer Care Ontario (CCO).
Duties:
Applies an integration of theory, research, experience and practical knowledge in providing holistic care for patients with cancer and their families within maximum scope of practice through protocols, practice guidelines/care paths and medical directives.
Provides holistic nursing care to meet the emotional, psychological, informational, spiritual and practical needs of patients throughout the spectrum of cancer care.
Acts as a proactive guide to help cancer patients navigate the complex maze of cancer treatment and care.
