About Us

CADS is the largest Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) service in Aotearoa/NewZealand and provides free community and inpatient treatment from a number of locations across TāmakiMakaurau. CADS is committed to empowering the community to reduce harm associated with substance use and to promote recovery and well‑being. At CADS, the Medically Managed Withdrawal Service (MMWS) operates a 10‑bed inpatient detox unit that offers 24/7 medical, nursing and psychosocial support to manage withdrawal symptoms, stabilise clients and assist them in beginning their recovery journey. The unit delivers compassionate, patient‑centred care in a structured, therapeutic environment tailored to individual needs.
