Registered Nurse

The Public Health Nurse (PHN) Well Child Clinic is a key position working in partnership with a multidisciplinary team. The PHN partners with community stakeholders to provide integrated, strength-based, family-centered care in various settings. Nursing services include the provision of universal Public Health services including antenatal/prenatal care; routine postnatal care, health assessment, counseling, screening, immunization; follow-up; and referral, linkage, advocacy, consultation, and teaching as they relate to preschool and school-aged children, families, adults, and seniors. The PHN is required to pack, lift, push, pull, move, and transport heavy and/or awkward supplies weighing up to 25 lbs. to various work sites. Service delivery may require walking 3-4 blocks with awkward and/or heavy supplies weighing up to 25lbs and climbing 3-4 flights of stairs, awkward and repetitive movements, sitting, standing, reaching, and/or bending for 2-3 hours at a time.
