Alberta Health Services is committed to increase and improve Albertans access, quality and safety of surgical services across the province with the Alberta Surgical Initiative. AHS is looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) to help make this initiative a success and are offering a funded educational opportunity to enhance your nursing career with a certificate in Perioperative Nursing. AHS is partnered with Macewan University to provide the Perioperative Nursing Program which consists of 10 weeks of in-class/online theory learning, 60 hours of labs, 380 hours of clinical practicums. Clinical placements are within the Edmonton Zone at one of the following surgical sites: Sturgeon Community Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Stollery Children’s Hospital, University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Heart Institute, Leduc Community Hospital, Grey Nuns Community Hospital and the Misericordia Community Hospital.
