Every day, the sickest infants, children, and youth, are admitted through the ED, arriving from all over British Columbia. Our nursing staff are key members of our ED, caring for patients with both physical ailments and critical mental health conditions, caring for the whole person through assessments for physical, psychosocial, and mental health, collaborating with specialists and resources, performing emergency care/trauma care, and/or initiating treatment plans for crisis care through to post-discharge.
