Job Description

Summary Of Duties

The RPN is responsible for initiation, monitoring and discontinuation of hemodialysis treatments of in‑centre patients. As a member of the inter‑professional team providing person‑centered care, the RPN will complete patient assessments, health teaching & family counselling, documentation, set‑up/monitoring & trouble‑shooting of hemodialysis machines and respond to rapid changes in the patient’s hemodynamic status within the scope of practice for a hemodialysis RPN in partnership with the RNs. The RPN will play an active role in the unit on quality improvement/research project teams.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current B.C.L.S. Certificate required
  • 1 year current hemodialysis experience required
  • 2 years acute care experience preferred
  • 1 year Gambro Artis hemodialysis machine use preferred ...
