Reporter-Editor, Part Time six months

The Canadian Press is looking for a dedicated journalist who wants to make an impact debunking false information as part of the CP Fact Check team. The successful applicant will arrive for work armed with original ideas to combat misinformation and an interest in sharpening their investigation skills.

The Canadian Press is a signatory to the International Fact-Checking Network’s code of principles, which require us to meet standards of methodology, fairness and transparency of sources. Our accreditation demonstrates our commitment to identifying and addressing disinformation.

Fact-checking experience is a plus but not required. Fairness and accuracy are paramount. The successful candidate will possess strong critical thinking and research skills and demonstrate an enthusiasm for learning new digital research techniques. The position will typically involve working three days per week over the term of six months.
