Centre for Music and Health (CMH)

The Centre for Music and Health (CMH) is the first dedicated research centre in Southeast Asia to spearhead evidence-based research investigating the role of music for supporting health and well-being. Situated in the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, one of the leading conservatories in Asia, and embedded within a top-tier research university, CMH is uniquely positioned to bring together artistic practice, scientific research, and interdisciplinary collaboration to advance this emerging field.

The Centre develops and evaluates music-based programmes, interventions, and technologies to support health and wellbeing at NUS, in Singapore, and beyond. Through interdisciplinary translational research, community partnerships, and rigorous evaluation methods, CMH works to strengthen the evidence base for music and health while developing scalable approaches that can improve people’s lives.
