The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterization Materials Science, Defense Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.

The recruiting group is led by Professor Eason (Yi-Sheng) Chen, who is a Nanyang Assistant Professor (NAP) and Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellow at NTU MSE. Eason's research group focuses on materials characterization, metallurgy, and hydrogen technologies, particularly using advanced microscopy techniques such as atom probe tomography (APT) and electron microscopes to develop the structure-property-processing relationship of materials.
