Overview of Duties:

The Research Medical Doctor will be involved in the conduct of a paediatric clinical trial under the supervision of Dr Thandeka Khoza, Head of Clinical Research. She/he is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all the clinical activities related to the clinical trial and supporting the trial coordinator in her/his responsibilities.

This Research Medical Doctor will be working on the PediCAP clinical trial (long title: Impact of oral step-down to amoxicillin or co-amoxiclav and of duration of antibiotic therapy on effectiveness, safety and selection of antibiotic resistance in severe childhood community-acquired pneumonia (CAP): a randomised clinical trial) in collaboration with the Clinical Research Department. The successful candidate will be based in our Durban Site.
