Research Officer, Cultivated Technologies /Food Applied Tissue Engineering (SIFBI)

Job description:

We are seeking candidates for the position of Research Officer for the Cultivated Technologies- Food Applied Tissue Engineering (CVT-FATE) team at the Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI).

The CVT platform at SIFBI is conducting intensive research and development activities on cultivated adipocytes, which offers an emerging alternative source of lipid ingredients and nutraceuticals. Commercialization faces the challenges of cost-effectiveness and manufacturing scalability. The successful candidate will perform the experimental work for a funded project where we will tackle these challenges by scaling up production volumes of cultivated fat and reducing the cost of culture media. Cultivated fish adipocytes will be produced using edible fibrous scaffolds under 3D culture conditions that are scalable to the commercial level, and investigated for their effects.
