Research Scientist (PI: Dr. Halil Aydin)

The Aydin Lab in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology at New York University College of Dentistry (New York, NY) seeks a Research Scientist who will investigate the mechanisms governing thylakoid membrane biogenesis in cyanobacteria. The lab uses a combination of physiology, biochemistry, structural biology tools, and molecular and functional imaging techniques. The qualified candidate will also utilize state-of-the-art electron cryo-tomography (cryo-ET) and computational approaches to study the atomic-scale details of membrane-associated processes.

In addition, the candidate will engage in bacterial culturing, including maintaining cell lines, growing adherent and suspension cells, and working with various cyanobacterial strains.
