Position Overview

Research Software Engineer / Staff Scientist, permanent, full time. Start: Autumn 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide software development and consulting services to research groups.
• Offer one‑on‑one and group support in software, programming, Linux, data, and infrastructure.
• Assist researchers on short‑term projects to enhance their independent competence.
• Act as a role model for open science best practices.
• Contribute to teaching and research infrastructure support as needed.
• Continuously learn new skills as part of the team.

Qualifications

• PhD with experience in computational research and knowledge of practical computing strategies, or
• Software developer or computational scientist with strong background in software, open source, Linux, scientific computing, and research experience.
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
