Job Description
The Holmes Laboratory in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Wesleyan University seeks a full-time Research Technician.
Reporting to the Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, the Research Technician will join an NIH-funded research group dedicated to examining fundamental properties of chromatin structure using the budding yeast model system.
Responsibilities include:
+ Execute research projects using standard techniques in molecular genetics (PCR, DNA extractions, yeast and bacterial transformations, gel electrophoresis, western blots)
+ Maintain a detailed lab notebook documenting all experimental work
+ Lab management, including inventory and ordering
+ Supervision of undergraduate work-study students
+ Other duties as assigned
