Respiratory Therapist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Performs various pulmonary techniques based on the standard procedures in Pulmonary Function Test, Arterial Blood Gas Analysis, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, pulse oximeter, etc.

Checks and maintains all equipment to ensure that these are in aseptic state of aseptic and functional readiness.

a Ensures proper sterilization of all equipment, tubing etc.

b Makes sure that the equipment in good working condition.

Coordinates with other therapist any problem with regards to patient care and use of equipment.

Provides pre-operative respiratory prophylaxis and/or post-operative ventilator assistance to patients.

Consults or brings up any problem encountered during his/her tour of duty to the attention of Senior Respiratory Therapist for information and appropriate action.
