Scenic Carpenter (Temporary)

Description

:The Scenic Carpenter will assist the Technical Direction team in constructing, installing, and dismantling scenery for all Mainstage productions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proficiency in the safe operation of power tools, scenic theatrical carpentry, and theatrical rigging.

As part of the Performance Services department, the Scenic Carpenter reports to the Technical Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

● Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality 

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

● Performs preventive maintenance on equipment 

● Mentor student workers as applicable to the tasks at hand 

● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scene shop and associated workspaces 

● Participate in all load-ins, changeovers, and strikes throughout the contract period
