School Support Accountant

The successful candidate

reports directly to the Supervisor of Financial Services and provides accounting and administrative services for all schools and supporting departments within the Board. The position is responsible for school generated funds accounting, financial analysis, account reconciliation and accounts receivable in accordance with board policy, accounting standards and provincial regulation. The position has an important role in supporting the finance department in all financial reporting cycles. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Manage the school-based accounting system for all schools including answering all queries, monthly reporting, year-end reconciliations and audit working papers related to school generated funds.Assist with internal audit reviews and process improvements.Administer accounts receivable including bank deposits, invoicing, collections, and reconciliation and reporting.Provide confidential support to the Corporate Services department....
