Sea Country Coordinator

(BAC) is a progressive Aboriginal corporation based in Maningrida that employs over 200 people. We represent and assist over 4000 Aboriginal people in the 32 homelands surrounding Maningrida in West Arnhem Land. Our work is carried out in the context of peoples traditional lands, cultural practices, and languages. Our services include new building and maintenance, road maintenance, arts, community development programs, collection of wild foods, and many more.

The primary aim of this role is to develop Bawinanga Sea Country operational workplans, coordinate and support the Bawinanga Sea Country Rangers with a wide range of patrolling, research and management activities. The position will supervise sea rangers to best carry out their work, build local capacity through development, managing work plans and targets in conjunction with other Coordinators and supporting training and personal development of rangers.
