Sr. Accountant – Overview

Sr. Accountant to support the financial operations of Poundmaker’s Lodge Treatment Centres, a non-profit organization focused on Indigenous holistic addiction treatment.

Responsibilities

• Prep budget and perform variance analysis according to funder requirements.
• Perform daily, month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, funders, and regulatory bodies; support external audits by preparing fixed asset schedules, reconciliation support, and other reports.
• Evaluate expenditures to ensure proper capitalization versus expense in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, payroll entries, and general ledger processes.
• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations monthly.
