Senior Backend Engineer (Java / Spring Boot)

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for a long-term freelance project via Shakers, collaborating with an international IT consulting group specialized in complex insurance systems.

You will play a key role in evolving critical backend systems built on a modern microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot
• Build and maintain REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Work within distributed and event-driven architectures
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical evolution
• Support CI/CD pipelines and production monitoring
• Mentor junior engineers and lead backend services end-to-end
