Senior Clinical Pharmacist - General Surgery and Theatres (LW)

Overview

Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Surgical Pharmacy Service, NHS Fife. Lead pharmacy input across pre-assessment, general surgery, urology and ENT, driving service redesign, safe prescribing, treatment optimisation and clinical guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based prescribing and optimisation of medicines across pre-assessment, ward and outpatient clinic settings.
• Adopt and implement clinical guidelines and best practice pathways with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide expert clinical advice to consultants, specialist nurses and other professionals.
• Lead education and training initiatives for clinical staff, pharmacy technicians and students.
• Support the introduction and optimisation of new and existing therapies within the surgical service portfolio.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and medicines optimisation at service and organisational level.
