The wide-ranging beat includes responsibility for coverage of Islamic extremism and counter-terrorism as well as the rivalries driving conflicts in places such as Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and involvement of outside powers, such as Russia, in the region.The ideal candidate will have significant experience covering foreign policy and security in the Middle East.
