Senior Database Migration Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Database Migration Engineer to lead the migration of our enterprise geoscience product database from SQL Anywhere to PostgreSQL. The role requires deep expertise in relational databases, hands-on migration experience, and strong SQL optimization skills to ensure data integrity, performance, and seamless integration with the existing application stack.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze the existing SQL Anywhere database schema, objects, dependencies, and data structures.
• Convert proprietary SQL Anywhere functions, stored procedures, triggers, and queries into ANSI-compliant and PostgreSQL-compatible SQL.
• Redesign and optimize database schemas to align with PostgreSQL best practices.
• Develop, execute, and validate data migration scripts for large production datasets.
