Senior Design Engineer, Controls, Substations and Power Plants

Role Overview

Join BBA as a senior design engineer in controls. You will design control and protection systems for high‑voltage substations and hydroelectric power plants in Canada, participate in onsite work to ensure quality and compliance before energization, and play a key role in managing projects, coordinating with clients and delivering quality outcomes with the BBA team.

Responsibilities

• Lead proposal preparation
• Take on various roles on projects, including project manager
• Manage the technical portions of projects (design reviews, costs, schedules)
• Review a team’s engineering work for control systems at substations or power plants
• Provide coaching and mentoring to a work team
• Coordinate mandates with other discipline leads
• Participate in group development and improve methods
