Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our Client has a requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer and a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis at Sellafield.

Role Purpose

To design and deliver mechanical handling solutions, including rigs, tools, and storage racks, for the client's project. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Engineering Manager, multi–disciplinary teams, and the Client to ensure safe, efficient, and technically compliant design delivery on a nationally important project.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Design mechanical handling equipment and storage solutions for pond operations.
• Produce and review NFRs, feasibility studies, and Design Intent Reports (DIRs) (Senior role).
• Check, approve, and maintain mechanical design deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance (Senior role).
• Manage design documentation, including drawings and technical specifications.
